Our site at Mainsforth is located between Mainsforth Cricket Club and Ferryhill Station. From Ferryhill Station head towards Bishop Middleham and you'll find us on the right, opposite Matterson's Bakery.

Our storage at Mainsforth (and all of our storage locations) is flexible, our aim is to make our storage fit your needs. At our Mainsforth self storage site we offer 6 different storage sizes to make our storage fit your needs.
We understand our customers need access to their storage when it's convenient for them, so we provide access to your secure storage 24 hours a day 7 days a week. U hold the key, which will open the security gate, this prevents access to the site by anyone other than our customers and helps keep your storage secure.
So if you're looking for short-term storage in the Mainsforth area to get you out of a tight spot our minimum storage period is just 1 week - ideal for temporary storage.
We also offer a great long-term storage solution, we have no maximum duration, we invoice our customers monthly - so provided you keep paying your bill, we're happy to continue your storage for as long as you want it.
You can also end your storage whenever you need to, we refund for any unused days.

SIZES | How do I choose the right sized storage for me?
You can find our size and their ideal uses on our sizes page. Most people hire the Large 20 foot container, but we have multiple options available.
SECURITY | What security measures do you have per site and container?
All our sites are fitted with CCTV, fencing, gated access and lighting. On top of that, we provide a free padlock for your individual store.
CLEAN AND DRY CONTAINERS | Are your containers clean and is there a chance of condensation?
We always provide cleaned out containers for our customers. Our containers are weather proof and are fitted with ventilation rosters. If your belongings are dry, there is no chance for condensation. However, if you introduce water (e.g. through a washing machine that still has water in its tubes) there is a chance for condensation. To combat this, we offer absorpoles.
OPENING HOURS | When can I access my storage site and container?
We offer 24/7 access, 365 days of the year (except our Middlesbrough site where we offer access 7am-7pm, 7 days a week).
BUSINESS | Can I store business inventory?
Absolutely! As a matter of fact, a large part of our customers are business owners.
ENTRANCE | How do I gain access to the storage site and my container?
At your Key Pickup meeting, you’ll receive the FOB to open the entrance gate. You’ll also receive a free padlock to lock up your container.
ACCESSIBILITY | Can I drive up to my container?
Yes, all storage containers have ground level access and you can drive up to your container.
BOOKING | How do I book self-storage with U Hold The Key?
The quickest and easiest way to book self storage is through our online booking tool.

BOOKING REQUIREMENT | What do I need to provide when I book?
In line with industry standards, we require photo ID (driving license or passport) and confirmation of your current address dated within the last 3 months (e.g. a utility bill or bank statement).
PAYMENT OPTIONS | How do I pay?
Our standard payment method for storage is by direct debit.
However, you can also make payments on our website through our ‘manage my store’ page - using either by Stripe Card Payment or PayPal.
Alternatively, you can drop us a call on 0800 389 43 19 and our friendly team can take a payment over the phone.
MINIMUM HIRE PERIOD AND NOTICE PERIOD | What are they?
The minimum hire period is one week. You can cancel any day you want.
